FEMStem Romania

FemSTEM Romania is a blog where young girls that are passionate about STEM can find their motivation by learning the impressive stories of Romanian women that prevailed in a men’s world.
Join us on the 25th of June to see Ana's presentation (link on Facebook).

The Presenter's story:
"I attended my first National Olympiad in the 6th grade and for the past 6 years I have noticed that I was mostly surrounded by boys.
In 2022 at the Physics and Informatics National Olympiads about 10% of the participants were girls; at the Mathematics National Olympiad about a third of the participants were girls and at the Chemistry National Olympiad girls represented about half of the participants.
This was discouraging at first, but I found my motivation alongside my classmates who also participated in the Olympiads and thanks to the older girls who were willing to help and encourage us. This is how I realised that by finding out the successful stories of other women and the feeling of belonging to the STEM community can really motivate us to follow our dreams in any field.
I reached out to multiple women from different fields and I hope that their life stories can inspire young women that maybe did not have the opportunity to be surrounded by other girls in STEM." - Ana Liliac
